When Family Members Are Unsupportive

Ashley: “I’m sad because I feel like I love my family so very much, yet they don’t seem to care about me as much as I care for them. It hurts my heart because I feel lonely and my family doesn’t even remember or care about me. On top of that I am facing trials in life that are affecting me. I feel so lost and sad and lonely; I just want my family to love me as much as I love them.”

The Voice for Love: “Dearest one, you are My precious child. In all things you are holy. I am so proud you are willing to come to Me in this way for comfort and strength and joy.

“You are experiencing loneliness, which is a challenging path. This is a path that feels like you are by yourself. And this is most true. You are BY your Self. What you are learning is that your Self is My own heart, with you in every step, in every heartbeat, in every thought. You are never alone, dear one. You are always with Me. You know intrinsically to turn to Me for comfort, guidance and safety. Look how brave and smart you are to know this.

“Your family is experiencing the thing in the world called busyness. This is a state of fear, for the most part, and not to be feared. I know it sounds silly to say fear not fear. This is because you can extend understanding and gentleness to fear as easily as you can be afraid of fear. Know that your family does love you, is aware of you and wants only the best for you, no matter what it looks like. Think of this busyness as a cloud of fog descended upon them. They are there but it makes it very difficult to see one another and to see you.

“When you are feeling lonely take a moment and give yourself a hug and say, ‘Hello, dear one, thank you for telling me you are lonely.’ In this way you both recognize what you are feeling and welcome it without adding fear to the mix. Precious one, you do not need to wait until your family comes to you, you can go to them. See what kindness you can offer, even if it is cheerfully allowing them to be busy without thinking they are doing this to hurt you. They know not what they do.

“I am so very proud of you, for all you do, for all you think, for all you are. Thank you for coming to Me. Each morning give thanks for your family and give thanks for your own dear self. Ask Me to guide you in your day and know that you are never alone. The One who loves you and knows you is always right there with you. As you give kindness and gentleness to yourself and your family, they will be reminded of the truth of Love.

“Thank you, precious One, for your perseverance, your love and your willingness to join with Me in extending much love to you and your family.

“Amen and Selah.”
