A Guide to Love, God, Prayer, Meditation, & Peace Within You—Right Now

Timothy Shriver, CEO of the Special Olympics, is a spiritual dude!

On Christmas eve in the Washington Post, Timothy Shriver, CEO of the Special Olympics, wrote the following: “If it is God’s voice calling to us with words of tenderness, gentleness and love, it can be felt at the very core of who we are–where our deepest fears and hopes reside. God’s voice is there, calling in the silence, with simplicity: “I love you.”

Wow! To think that the CEO of the Special Olympics is writing about hearing God’s voice in one of the top newspapers of our country. That is fantastic!

Definitely a man of God, who finishes his post with the following:

Maybe our response is to follow the advice of Meister Eckhart, the Dominican mystic, who said, “If the only prayer you say your whole life is ‘thank you,’ that would suffice.”

If thank you is a prayer, Christmas is the day to say it. And maybe say one more thing: “I love you too.”

I think it’s fantastic when a man of his social stature and opportunity shares so deeply from his heart in such a public forum. We need more people stepping out, not just on Christmas, but throughout the year as well. It’s true that Mr. Shriver wrote this article on Christmas Eve, a time when nobody would blame him for saying such things, but would you be willing to write it in the middle of the year?

I have a feeling that he would be willing to write it, but why would the Washington Post print it if it didn’t have a particular tie-in to something bigger or greater?

Perhaps more people in the future will be willing to talk about hearing the voice of God after articles like this!
