How to Know Which Direction to Go

Jenna: “I moved from the U.S. in 2011 because I could not find employment and returned to my home country. Since that time I have not been able to settle as I have had tremendous trouble with the two homes I still own in the U.S. I am in foreclosure on one, and the second has a tenant who is behind in her rent and putting me in financial hardship. Do I need to return to the U.S., evict this tenant, move into my home and find a job? I am at a crossroads and don’t know what to do. I am fasting and praying and really trying to decide what is best. What should I do?”

The Voice for Love: “Precious One, you have posed a question of location. Know first that the location you are in does not determine your experience. Your experience is determined by your own heart, which goes with you wherever you go. Know that you can find peace and joy and perfection wherever you are.

“Knowing this truth, now it is time to sit quietly and listen to your heart. It knows you inside and out. Your heart is very willing to lead you in the direction you will go. Follow the prompting of your heart and trust that all is already working out for you. Face each day with this truth: ‘Everything is already working out for me, I need but notice it.’

“Fear not, My precious one, you cannot choose outside of the will of God. It is possible to not notice the will of God, but you cannot slip outside of the will of God. In taking time to ask and pray and fast, you are enabling your awareness of God’s presence in each and every part of your life. God is present in all you do, in your property managing, and in your working or not working. Trust the leading of your heart. You have nothing to fear there. Whatever is happening is indeed the very best next step. Allow this truth to fully sink in: Whatever is happening is the very best next step. What is in front of you is the very story you need.

To give your heart practice in speaking to you, you need but take time to listen and hear. Sit quietly and hear the beating of your heart. Remember your life is always working out perfectly both for you and all those in your midst. Sit quietly again and ask: ‘Where do I want to be?’ Do not rush to guess the answer. Let the answer rise quietly and gently to the surface of your mind. Notice it without judgment. Trust this message from your heart and follow, all the while asking: ‘What is my next step?’ In this way your heart will know you are listening and be delighted to give you the next step, even if for a while the next step is to wait.

“Thank you, My precious one, for your beautiful willingness to hear and follow the love in your own heart.”
