| Impromptu Message from Spirit DavidPaul: After writing my message to you above about our upcoming training and preview call, I sat back in my office chair and tried to think about what to include in this month's newsletter. I racked my brain for several minutes, but my mind was completely blank. I couldn't think of a single thing to include. There had to be something I could share, I thought. Suddenly, I had a thought. Why don't I ask Holy Spirit for message to share. :-) I know that might sound obvious, but in the moment, it wasn't. Knowing it was pretty funny, I smiled to myself as I closed my eyes and then asked for message to share with you. This is what I received…. Holy Spirit: Thank you, precious one, for joining with us in this way. It is indeed ironic that this would be the last place you would think of to look for communication to share with those seeking this Voice within them. :-) That is indeed the predominant pattern in the world … to seek outside yourself for solutions to your life's problems, rather than look within for what is always there ... and will always provide you with what you truly want and need. You originally asked for a message that you could share with the people on your mailing list, and we would say this to them, as well as you. The world would offer you solutions to your problems, your challenges, your perceived mistakes, and everything else that would cause you pain and suffering, yet what the world has to offer you cannot give you the true peace, satisfaction, or fulfillment that you seek. The solutions the world offers you are temporary because they do not address the source of your problems. Your true challenges do not lie in your circumstances, or the perceptions and actions of others. They lie in the thoughts and beliefs you hold within yourself. The world's answers cannot alter your thoughts and beliefs; therefore the world's answers cannot alleviate the source of your pain. When you join with the presence of God within you, you allow the awareness of God to replace your own. You allow the awareness of the Holy Spirit to replace the limiting, judgmental, and fearful thoughts within you that are the source of your pain. When you join in this way, your mind becomes healed. Your painful thoughts and beliefs fall away. What replaces them is love, peace, understanding, clarity, and fulfillment. What replaces them is the awareness of the Holy Spirit. When the awareness of the Holy Spirit becomes your own, your problems and challenges are healed. The circumstances may stay the same, or they may naturally and gracefully alter, but it will not matter to you either way. When you have true peace, your peace is not dependent upon the circumstances of the world or the life you seem to be living. True peace is not dependent upon anything. True peace is a state of mind that always is, that is always available, and can never be lost when your mind is joined with God's. When you find yourself in need, in pain, or wanting more, seek first the kingdom of God within. Seek first the awareness of the Holy Spirit that has been given to you by God to replace that which is painful, unkind, unloving, fearful, and would cause you to feel separate and alone in the world. When you join with the awareness of the Holy Spirit within you, your problems will fall away, and you will see them for what they truly are, temporary illusions that you have created within the mind to prove that you are once again separate from God. In the moment that those illusions are seen for what they truly are, you will be home with God. You will be restored to God-Mind, and the peace, joy, wholeness, and love that you sought in the beginning will have be received (and extended to all you come into contact with.) Did you receive what you were looking for, precious one? DavidPaul: Yes. Holy Spirit: Then, indeed, it is done. Many blessings to you. Know that we are always here for the asking. |
| Learning to Love Myself The following story was written by Claudette Foy several years ago and submitted to me to be include in When God Spoke to Me. I had originally accepted the story, but when my publisher asked me to cut the number of stories from 101 to 70, I went through the arduous task of eliminating a lot of wonderful stories. This was one of them... "This was the lowest point of my life. I felt unable to handle any more problems, illnesses, or deaths. The past year had been so emotionally and physically draining. My eighty-eight-year-old mother had been so sick. We weren't sure if she would live or die. As she began recovering, my younger sister ended up in the Critical Care Unit, intubated and semi-conscious. She had been diagnosed with a serious lung disease and had suffered a heart attack. Several dear friends had died as well, and our last living relative, Aunt Doris, passed away. My friend's daughter, who was 5 months pregnant, lost the baby girl she was carrying. Another friend had cancer and another committed suicide. The phone rang and I hesitated to answer. When I did, it was my son, Mike, telling me that he and his lovely wife, Sue, were separating. I was devastated and very concerned about their family. Their two children, Emily and Jeremy, were only seven and ten years old. My heart ached as flashbacks about my divorce from Mike's dad danced around in my mind. I did not want Emily and Jeremy to go through what their dad and his brothers and sister had endured. I have always considered myself a spiritually strong person and mostly very positive, but this time I felt so powerless and helpless. I have a saying, "The only thing permanent in this world is change." Now I cried and raged at the changes looming ahead. Mike was moving into his own place at the end of the month. I feared losing the closeness I shared with my Sue and wondered how we would deal with holidays, birthdays, and special events. I was so focused on the future I stopped living in the present. So much change in so little time. My words were coming back to haunt me. I didn't want to deal with any of this. I wanted to pull the covers over my head and pretend it wasn't happening. For many years I had meditated, prayed, attended workshops and seminars, took spiritual courses, and had been faithful to my church and spiritual groups. Now I felt as if I hadn't done enough or had done something wrong. I relived images from my own divorce and the effects it had had on my children. Try as I might, I could not focus on anything positive, could not still my mind, could not read anything uplifting. About six weeks before the phone call from Mike, I had learned about a 30-Day Program called "How to Hear the Voice of God" which taught how to hear God's Voice as well as "extend Love" to one's thoughts. I made a commitment to hear God's Voice more clearly in my life and was soon "extending Love" to my thoughts, to people, to nature, and to everything in my life. It seemed so easy, but as I was faced with the death of another two friends and the call from Mike, I began to doubt my ability to connect with God. I didn't want to send love to anyone or anything. I was so sad and angry. Life wasn't fair and I was really tired of all the challenges. I wanted to take action and keep busy—keep all those feelings under wraps. Guiding Ourselves into Our Greatness by Jennifer Hoffman I’ll have to admit, I was a reluctant channel. And on that fateful day 7 years ago when I was visited by Archangel Uriel and asked to begin to work with him, my first response was ‘no, thank you.’ Not because I didn’t think I could do it, but because I thought that I was the wrong person for the job. There were surely other people in the world who were willing, committed to this path, who had already said they wanted to do this and who knew more than I did. After all, I had been working on developing my corporate career for more than twenty years and despite five layoffs, was committed to it. But Uriel was insistent and eventually I agreed.
In the years that I have been a channel and learned to connect to my inner guidance, I have learned a lot, shared with many and come to understand myself as a spiritual being. The world of spirit no longer holds mysteries for me, although I still find it painfully frustrating at times. What I appreciate is the infinite gentleness, love and compassion that the spirit world holds for me, its endless patience and willingness to stand by me as I struggle with connecting to who I am. It believes in my greatness and reminds me of it when I forget.We believe the spirit world holds mysterious knowledge that we must pass through great trials and tribulations to acquire. I don’t know anyone who follows the spiritual path who has not struggled and suffered in some way as part of their journey. Spirit holds a vision for us that we eventually learn to connect to, believe and incorporate into our humanity. It is a simple, powerful vision and that is why we have such a hard time with it. Who are we to believe that we are great, blessed, supported, served and held in such high esteem? What about what we have done, said and thought that mirrored our powerlessness, insignificance and unworthiness? How can we be so great when we act so small? |
